One of my most significant memories from Art school was my tutor telling me that I was too precious with my work, and if I really wanted to get better, I needed to be prepared for some of my work to get destroyed along the way.

Ooof, what a powerful lesson it is to be told to destroy, to be aggressive to stop being so nice with your art!
It's the main thing I remember, over 25 years later. Still working out how to do it.
